HEATHER + JOSH - SHORT FILM

Happy Friday everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying March Madness and getting ready for a spectacular weekend of drinking green beer and eating shepherds pie. Myself, I will probably spend most of my weekend working. Lots of different projects going on right now and currently working on an animation video with my friends Jacques and Yena which has been lots of fun. More on that later.

Today, I present to you Heather and Josh’s wedding short! This film was so much fun to shoot and edit. These two were all laughs and smiles - an absolute joy to work with. Heather surfs and Josh backflips! The wedding took place at their church in Santa Clarita and behind the building it was all grassy hills and oak trees which is where we did their first look. It sure made for some beautiful footage for the film. When you watch the film notice the unique, orange, and fun decor because Heather and her girls pretty much made it all! Well that’s enough jibber jabber from me. Enjoy the film.

NEW MEMBERS OF THE TEAM: MARK AND DAVID

Today we proudly introduce the newest additions to the Forrey Films team!

DAVID - CINEMATOGRAPHER - David and I have known each other since the age of four. Since we met we have always stayed close friends. David is also a talented Ceramicist. That’s Scientist of all things ceramic! Okay, so maybe he isn’t a scientist but he sure knows his way around the pottery wheel. Get it? Around the pottery wheel!? haha...I digress, check out some of his pottery at Ridgway Pottery when you get a chance.

MARK - CINEMATOGRAPHER, PHOTOGRAPHER, and TECHNOLOGY GURU - Not only is Mark the newest addition to the Forrey Films Cinematography team, he also comes with a wealth of tech knowledge and photography skills. I mean it’s stupid how smart he is. What?

Mark and David are great additions to the team! With our powers combined, we have taken the first part of each of our names and put them together to create a new name for our studio! Introducing MatMarDav Productions! Ehhhh, maybe we’ll just stick with Forrey Films. :)

CECILIA + SCOTT - SHORT FILM

We have a very special treat this week, because Cecila and Scott's highlight video is hot off the press! This wedding was a complete joy to film and edit. My new friends, Cecilia and Scott, had their wedding at the Thursday Club in San Diego and it was B-E-A-UTIFUL! From Cecilia's stunning vintage style dress to the hand-made decor made from the paper of old books, this wedding was gorgeous. The paper flower decor was definitely a great DIY idea. But what really made this wedding all so magical was of course the bride and groom. These two were so much fun to film. I always enjoy it when the couple I work for not only tolerates my goofyness but can match it! LOL. There were also quite a bit of tears in this wedding. I especially love Cecilia's smile when she's trying hold em back. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the film!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

The end of the year always brings about a time of reflection on 2011 and excitement for 2012. One of the greatest things that happened to us in 2011 was our wedding! As one of my Christmas gifts, Matt secretly edited a highlight film of our wedding whenever I was not home. He wrapped the DVD up in a Tiffany-colored bag that had a sticker on it that said "Forrey & Co." Since we were both home sick on Christmas Eve, we opened all our gifts on the couch while dosed up on Tylenol and ginger tea. I think I watched our highlight film about 30 times!!

Anyhow, enough jabbering, here is a short film of our wedding at Keyways Vineyard & Winery in Temecula, CA! It's edited by the groom himself using the song "Turn to Stone" by Ingrid Michaelson. You can't go wrong with Ingrid. Also, special thanks to our friends at Amari Productions for filming our wedding. Enjoy!

DANNY + JIA - SHORT FILM

Well, it's Friday, it's raining, so I say let's pop some popcorn and watch Danny and Jia's highlight film. Nestled away in Simi Valley, their wedding venue called The Vineyards was a beautiful spot to celebrate Danny and Jia's big day. I really loved the gardens there where we had their portrait session and first look. The lush greenery with the little trail taking you throughout made for some good cinematography. Danny and Jia were an absolute pleasure to work with, and their beautiful smiles made my job easy. Hope you enjoy their film.

HOME OF POSSIBILITIES

Happy November everyone! To celebrated let's have a post shall we?! We just finished a "Who We Are" video for an organization called Home of Possibilities. This organization provides effective, high quality community-based counseling and social services as an alternative to traditional institutional care. To read more about the organization please visit their website. This was a fun project to work on because we were able to incorporate some creative, and fun video effects to compliment the positive, jovial staff at HOP.

JILLIAN + TREVOR - SHORT FILM

Here I sit enjoying the delicious apple cinnamon jelly from the quaint little town of Julian, California, where I had the pleasure of filming Jillian and Trevor's wedding at "The Farmhouse." The Farmhouse is nestled between apple orchards and has a great view of the surrounding mountains. This wedding had a unique feel to it, as it was very personal and the details were home made and creative. And nothing beats the BBQ they served!

Jillian and Trevor were an absolute pleasure to work with because they treated me just like I was part of the family. I got to know their story when I made their "Love Story" film, and it was cool to witness their big day finally happen because they had been so excited about it. One neat thing about this wedding is that Jillian is a professional wedding hairstylist, and did her own hair. Check out her website: www.SanDiegoWeddingHairbyJillianRae.com. Their family was pretty fun too, and there were some great dancers - as you will see in this video!

JILLIAN + TREVOR - LOVE STORY

Hey ya'll, Chariane here! I had the pleasure of coming along to this love story shoot as Matt's assistant (which basically means I carried camera equipment, set up chairs, and searched for batteries). Jillian and Trevor had the awesome idea to do their interview at Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach, San Diego. We got there right before sunset and hiked down to a sweet spot among high grass with the ocean in the background. Gorgeous day for a gorgeous couple!

As you will see in this video, Jillian and Trevor have a ton of fun stories that make up their relationship. They were so natural in front of the camera and they weren't shy at all about talking about their special moments, which made it enjoyable to listen to them. You will LOVE their first date story as it's filled with creativity...whether single or married, you might want to snatch Trevor's idea of a date at a grocery store. You will love Trevor's proposal with a "scientific analogy", and if you're anything like me, you will LOVE Jillian's earrings.

CHARIANE + MATT - LOVE STORY

Hello Friendlies,

Today I am very happy to post this film, for it's my own love story video starring me and my wife! I'm used to being on the other side of the camera, not on the end with the lens staring at me. It was an experience!

My beautiful wife and I wanted to pick a spot in San Diego that had a combination of natural beauty, and the urban feel. So we chose Balboa Park as our location, and I couldn't have been happier with the results. We arrived at Balboa around 6:00am so that we would have pretty much the entire place to ourselves. And we did! Obviously, I couldn't film this one by myself so I had my good friend and colleague Tom O'Hara take care of the cinematography, and then I did the editing afterwards. Tom has a production company as well focusing primarily on weddings called Aqua Vivus Productions. It was an early shoot, but totally worth it. My wife and I had a great time on the shoot, and I was so proud to play this video at our wedding. It got a lot of laughs, and Chariane loved that we had footage included in the video from when we met in 2007. :)
